Sierra Tel Internet does not offer free customer support regarding do-it-yourself web page creation. Information about web page design and programming is readily available via search engines, software manufacturers and books. Click here for an overview. URLS AND DOMAIN NAMES A URL (Uniform Resource Locator or "web address") is a web address. www.sti.net is a URL. As part of each Internet access account, every STI subscriber is entitled to at least 10MB of web page storage on our servers, up to 500MB of outgoing file transfer, and an STI Members URL that contains one of your email addresses, such as http://members.sti.net/yourname. A registered domain name is of the form: www.yourcompany.com. These are usually used by those doing business through web pages, or who engage in some sort of commerce. The domain extension:

UPLOADING WEB PAGES A web page is a file and associated graphics stored on a web server and made available to the world through a unique Internet address. For your web page to be viewable, it must be uploaded via File Transfer Protocol (FTP) software to your directory on your host's web server. See Web Pages You Create for more information on uploading your own web pages. If STI designs or creates web pages for you, the uploading process is part of our service.
