1.After
you have completed the installation of the software
and have rebooted your machine, you will be
left with a few icons located in a Microsoft
Internet Explorer program group on your desktop.
2.You can click on the icon that says "Get
me on the Internet".
3.You will then see a screen with STI's emblem
on it and an install button. Please click
the Install to complete the installation
process.
4.You will then see an STI icon in your program
group. Click that STI icon to bring up
your dialer.
5.You will see the following screen:
6.Enter
your username and password where
prompted.
7.The default phone number should be changed
it to your local Internet dialup number,
NOT your own telephone number.
8.Before you click Connect, click the
Properties button.
9.You will see the following screen:
10.The
only setting you need to be aware of on this
screen is the idle timeout setting. You
do not need to check this box because STI will
automatically disconnect you after 20 minutes
of idle time.
11.The rest of the options are up to you.
12.Click the Modem tab.
13.You will see the following screen:
14.The
baud rate may default to the wrong speed regardless
of whether you chose the modem from a list or
not.
- For
28.8 modems, you can change this to 57,600.
- For
14.4 modems, you can change this to 38,400.
15.Click
the TCP/IP tab.
16.You will see the following screen:
17.The
DNS addresses should already be correct, but
make sure that they are set to 64.118.98.89
and 64.118.98.90.
18.Click OK when done.
19.To dial, click the Connect button.
20.Your modem will then dial and when you are
connected, you will see the following screen:
21.From
here you can minimize this window and open up
your Internet Explorer web browser by double
clicking the globe icon that you have in your
program group. Internet Explorer may come up
automatically if you have it configured to do
so.
