Setting IE to automatically load the STI Home Page and to tie-in Internet Mail:

STI Home Page Setup

1. Click on the Globe Icon on your desktop to start Internet Explorer, after the IE browser opens, click on the View title on the menu bar at top of the screen, on the drop-down menu click options. The following window will appear:



2. Click on the Connection tab at top of the window. The following window appears:



3. In the box titled Dialing, click on Connect to the Internet as needed box, a check mark will appear in the box.
4. Click on the box titled Add. The following window appears:



5. In the box titled Type a name for the computer you are dialing: type STI
6. Click the next box at bottom of the window. The following window appears:



7. In the box titled Area Code: type your area code.
8. In the box titled Telephone number: type the number your computer's modem is to dial to connect with STI
9. Click the Next box at the bottom of the screen. The following window appears:



10. Click the Finish box at bottom of the window.
11. Click on the Navigation tab at top of the window. The following window appears:



12.In the box titled Page: select the words Start Page.
13.In the box titled Address: type http://www.sierratel.com
14.Click on the OK box at bottom of screen.

Setting up Internet Mail

1. From the window above click on the Programs tab at top of the window. The following window appears:



2. In the box titled Mail: use the down arrow button and select Internet Mail
3. In the box titled News: use the down arrow button and select Internet News.
4. Click on the OK box at bottom of window.
5. Now from the IE browser window click on the Mail menu at the top of the screen, from the drop-down menu select Read Mail. The following window appears:



6. At the top of the screen click on title Mail, when drop-down menu appears click on Options. The following window will appear:



7. In the box titled Name: type in your name (John Smith, Smith Family,etc..)
8. In the box titled Email Address: type your email address
(i.e. yourusername@sierratel.com).
9. In the box titled Outgoing Mail(SMTP): type mail.sti.net
10. In the box titled Incoming Mail (POP3): type mail.sti.net
11. Click on the circle titled Logon using: so that a black dot appears.
12. In the box titled Account Name: type your username.
13. Click on the tab at top titled Connection. The following window appears:



14. In the box titled Connection click on the circle titled I use a modem to access my email so that it is selected.
15. In the box titled Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection: use the down arrow button and select STI.
16. Click the OK box at the bottom of the screen.
17. You are now ready to use Internet Explorer for browsing and email.
