Troubleshooting Remote Access for OS 8.1- 9.2

To check the Remote Access Settings:
Step 1: Click the Apple icon in the top left corner.
Step 2: Point to Control Panels.
Step 3: Click Remote Access (called PPP in OS 8.1).
Step 4: Click the Options button.
Step 5: Disable (uncheck) "Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications." In OS 8.1 this setting is on the Connection Tab. In later versions, it is on the Protocol tab.
Step 6: Close the Options window.
Step 7: Close the Remote Access windows, saving the changes if prompted.
Step 8: Restart the computer.
